Lucky Duck Just Unlocked Another Location and It Is Already One of the Best Spots in South Austin

Austin's favorite neighborhood bar is expanding south, and the new location at 2105 Lynnbrook Dr is exactly what this side of town has been waiting for. We got an early invite to walk through Lucky Duck South before the doors officially open to the public, and what they have put together here is genuinely impressive. The grand opening is this week, but the soft opening is already live so you can get in there right now.

Two Bars, Inside and Out

Lucky Duck South is running two full bars — one indoors, one outside — and the layout is intentionally open so the two spaces flow together. You are not choosing between a dark bar and a patio. It is one big connected experience that happens to have two places to order a drink. Bar manager Justin was taking care of everyone when we visited and had the whole setup running smoothly. The cocktail menu is already dialed in.

Two Pool Tables, Pickleball Courts, Beer Pong and a Live Music Stage

This is where Lucky Duck South goes from being a bar to being a full day destination. There are two pickleball courts on the property, a pool table in each bar, beer pong, and a dedicated live music stage that is going to turn this place into a serious spot for local acts once the programming gets going. You could genuinely spend an entire Sunday here and not run out of things to do.

Walking in you are greeted by some of the nicest turf we have seen at an outdoor venue in Austin. It sounds like a small detail but it sets the whole tone.

Three Food Trucks and All of Them Are Worth Your Time

Lucky Duck South has three food trucks on site and the lineup is strong across the board. Having three trucks on the same property means you are never locked into one cuisine — a smart call for a venue designed to keep people around for a full afternoon.

Dog Friendly and Kid Friendly From the Start

Lucky Duck South is set up to be genuinely welcoming to everyone in your crew. Bring your dog, bring your kids, bring the whole extended group. The open layout and the turf entrance make it feel like a space designed around how people actually want to spend their time in Austin, not just around how much you can pack behind a bar.

The Coffee Bar Is Coming and the Story Behind It Is Worth Knowing

One of the owners, Michael, is a serious coffee person. He traveled the world specifically to track down the best coffees he could find, and the coffee bar at Lucky Duck South is being built around that vision. It is not open yet because the team is focused on this week's grand opening, but it is coming shortly after. Given everything they have already built here in one month, it is going to be worth the wait.

They Built This Entire Place in a Month

The full buildout — two bars, two pickleball courts, two pool tables, a live music stage, food truck pads and the turf entrance — all came together in about 30 days.

That is not a typo. That kind of execution says a lot about the team behind it and sets a high bar for what this location is going to become once it fully hits its stride.
